Item Hand Bomb 3

In EBF3

"Throw at a foe for bomb elemental damage."
―In-game description, Epic Battle Fantasy 3

The Hand Bomb, known simply as Bomb in EBF2, is a recurring item in the Epic Battle Fantasy series, having appeared in every main game except the original (which instead had the Bob-omb item). It is a round black bomb with a red "X" painted on the front and a visibly lit fuse. Its main purpose is to be thrown in battle, dealing magical Bomb damage to a single foe; later games also give it the ability to Stagger its target.

In Epic Battle Fantasy 3, 4 and 5, the Hand Bomb is also used as a forging item for certain equipment pieces, mostly with a military theme.

Appearances[]

Epic Battle Fantasy 2[]

Hand Bombs can be purchased at either shop for 500 gold. Their damage is increased by the Chemist family of Skill Bonuses.

Matt's Cat Warrior Skill Bonus has a chance to summon NoLegs to attack a foe with a Bomb. This does not use up your stock.

Epic Battle Fantasy 3[]

Hand Bombs can be purchased at the Misc Shop in The Town for 400 gold. They can now be used as crafting items, with 46 being needed to fully upgrade the relevant equipment.

As a thrown item, the Hand Bomb's power can be doubled if the user is wearing the Captain Hat.

The Drill Bot, the Kitten Fort, and the Protector have skills that take their stats from the Hand Bomb, but are disguised as a rocket, an explosive barrel, or simply an explosion, respectively.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]

The Hand Bomb can be purchased at any Material Shop for 400 gold. 85 are needed to fully upgrade all equipment, with most being used for the Juggernaut.

As a thrown item, the Hand Bomb deals more damage than its EBF3 incarnation and also has a good chance to Stagger the foe it hits. With the proper boosts in place, it becomes the strongest single-target Bomb skill the player can use.

The Tank Cannon skill now uses the Hand Bomb's stats; consequently, it can be affected by item-boosting equipment.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]

Hand Bombs can be purchased at any Material Shop for 400 gold. 84 of them are required to fully upgrade all equipment.

As a thrown item, the Hand Bomb received another power boost compared to EBF4, along with an increased Stagger chance. It can be further enhanced by Equipment Effects that boost thrown items.

Like Meow Meow, ignores user's Magic Attack stat and any bonuses to it, instead using the user's level * 3 formula to get a value to multiply the skill's power by. Also ignores Accuracy buffs and equipment bonuses to it, yet still considers the base stat and the bonus from permanent stat food, Lollipop.
