The Puppy Hat is a male hat found in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and 5. It has been premium content in both games.

The Puppy Hat does not have any armor counterparts.

Description

The Puppy Hat is a small, plump puppy perched on top of the wearer's head. It has a triangular nose, round black ears, and a small white tail that wags during the wearer's idle animation. EBF5 added black spots on its body, small freckles on its muzzle, and a pink tongue poking out of its mouth; its tail is also a bit larger than before.

The Puppy Hat usually has decent defenses, resistances to annoying status effects (usually including Freeze and Dispel), and the ability to summon an adorable dog to assist the party between turns.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

The Puppy Hat is a defensive hat with good Defence and Magic Defence, as well as a nice bonus to both HP and MP. It also allows a few healing opportunities, due to its ability to randomly summon a Friend Dog between turns; however, the random results of the summon make it rather unreliable.

The Puppy Hat provides Freeze and Dispel resistance, both of which become an immunity at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5

Normal

The Puppy Hat gives a moderate boost to all of Magic Attack, Defence, and Magic Defence, as well as slightly boosting HP. It also improves the chances to capture foes and summons Maxi between turns, occasionally allowing the entire party to become Lovable.

The Puppy Hat is essentially a more balanced/defensive version of the Wizard Hat that also has some great capturing utility; aside from its capture bonus, Maxi's full-party Lovable status can drive some weakened foes to Surrender in addition to generally raising capture chance.

The Puppy Hat is resistant to Chill, Freeze, Stun and Dispel, becoming fully immune to all of them at Level 5.

Equip Remix

The Alt Puppy Hat has good HP and modest Magic Attack and Magic Defence, but suffers from small Accuracy and Evade penalties. While it's not the most effective offensive hat, it has potential for a support build; it improves healing and buff items and has a chance to make the whole party Lovable by summoning Maxi between turns.

The Alt Puppy Hat resists Chill, Freeze, Doom, Instant Death and Dispel, becoming fully immune to all of them at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4

The Puppy Hat is found on Battle Mountain, specifically in the bottom chest of the Diamond Golem screen. A Battery is required to get this far, used to open the door a few screens before.

The Puppy Hat is found inside a chest in the northern room of the Deathly Hollows. The chest is the reward for solving the walk-once puzzle.
