The Royal Crown, also known as the Gold Crown in EBF4, is a female hat available in Epic Battle Fantasy 4 and 5. It does not have any armor counterparts.

Description[]

The Royal Crown is a small golden crown decorated with red and blue gems, worn slightly askew on the wearer's head. In EBF5, the red gems were replaced by more blue gems and the crown includes a thin strap to help secure it on its wearer's head.

The Royal Crown has always been offensively-focused, with good Attack and Magic Attack but limited to nonexistent defenses. It often has the ability to make its wearer Brave between turns.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]

The Gold Crown gives the wearer a good boost in both Attack and Magic Attack, and also has a chance to give the Brave status between turns, increasing the wearer's critical chance while negating critical hits against them.

The Gold Crown resists Curse and Weaken, becoming immune to both at Level 5.

Epic Battle Fantasy 5[]

Normal[]

The Royal Crown significantly increases the wearer's offenses, but has minute boosts to Defence and Magic Defence. It can occasionally grant Brave between turns, improving the wearer's chance of landing critical hits while making her immune to the same.

The Royal Crown is best suited for offensive builds, though the Drill Bits and the Dark Bobble are more powerful for physical and magical builds respectively.

The Royal Crown resists Thunder and Water, with neither becoming an immunity at Level 5.

Equip Remix[]

When the Alt Royal Crown is worn, someone's in for a lot of pain - the only question is whether it's the wearer or her foes that suffers.

The Alt Royal Crown has equally impressive boosts to Attack and Magic Attack, enabling both Anna and Natalie to dish out a lot more damage on either side of the offensive spectrum. However, this comes with the cost of slight Accuracy and Evade penalties, a serious weakness to Doom and Instant Death, and a high chance of giving the wearer Bad Luck every turn. While the stat penalties are mostly negligible, Bad Luck is a fairly annoying status in any situation, and due to the Doom vulnerability, it is very much possible that the wearer will be struck by Instant Death. Although this is not too damning of an issue, Death-heavy foes or the Cursed Land weather become major concerns when using this headgear.

If Doom or Instant Death are not a concern (either by avoiding sources of the status or by providing gear/status support to mitigate them), the Alt Royal Crown is a serviceable headgear for a hyper-offensive female build.

The Alt Royal Crown resists Dark and Water, with neither becoming an immunity at Level 5. It is also vulnerable to Doom and Instant Death, with the weakness remaining consistent at all forging levels.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4[]

The Gold Crown is found in Greenwood Village, in the chest on a raft in the healing pool. Leafy Boots are required to reach the chest.

Trivia[]

  • The Gold Crown is a reference to the crown worn by Princess Peach in the Mario franchise. The resemblance is lessened for the Royal Crown.
  • The Gold Crown is also nearly identical to the crown Jack wears in EBF3 and 5. Whether or not it is the same crown is unclear, but it's worth noting that Jack isn't wearing a crown in his EBF4 appearance.
