The Soul Eater is one of Matt's recurring swords in the Epic Battle Fantasy series.
Description
Appearing in the first three games, it is a large sword with a massive red-tinted spiked blade, with an reddish eye and orange downward horns as the cross-guard.
In Epic Battle Fantasy 5, The weapon coloring was altered. The Blade, cross-guard, and hilt were changed to crimson, the spikes became black, and the eye was changed to orange.
The Soul Eater's properties have been fairly consistent in the three games it's featured in: A phenomenal boost in Attack, balanced by a massive hit to all defensive stats. Because of this, the Soul Eater is an excellent weapon against weak enemy but a poor choice against hard hitting enemies, contrary to the flavor text in EBF. This feature would later be inherited by the Anarchy in Epic Battle Fantasy 4.

Trivia
- The Soul Eater is most likely named after the Soul Eater anime. Its design seems to take cues from Soul Edge, an evil sword from the Soul Calibur series of video games.
