Syphon is a recurring skill in the Epic Battle Fantasy series. In Epic Battle Fantasy 2 and 5, it is one of Natalie's standard spells. In Epic Battle Fantasy 3 and 4, it is an unlockable skill that can be taught to any of the players.
Description[]
When cast, a large, translucent sigil appears over the targets, rotating a few times before disappearing. The sigil appears to consist of several concentric circles, each with a different design:
- The outer circle is black and dotted with a sequence of small and large rings connected by elegant curving lines.
- The middle circle is white, with strange runes written around it.
- The inner circle is black, with a Japanese character written in it. It is surrounded by a few thin white and black rings.
Syphon's purpose is to try to put all enemies under the status effect of the same name, which typically prevents them from using magical attacks.
In EBF4, White Clay can also use Syphon.
Epic Battle Fantasy 2[]
Before the EBF Collection update, the in-game description incorrectly stated the skill had 0 power instead of 900, and 200% Accuracy instead of 150%.

Found in the secret area in Vegetable Forest, which becomes accessible after getting 10 Medals. It no longer has guaranteed Syphon infliction on foes with no resistance to Syphon, and the status has a shorter duration.

Found in Crystal Caverns, on the screen with drill-wielding NPCs, in the left chest, blocked by a battle that appears as a Coal Bat.
It no longer deals damage to the targets, and the status's duration has decreased again.

Syphon is the upgraded version of Mute. It can either target all foes or just one, acting like Mute when used against a single target.
